Can we mix it with Porefessional? I really like the idea of a brightening primer but I also have large pores, which I like to cover up with porefessional. Is is possible to use both? How?
Hi gorgeous! I LOVE mixing "that gal" and the POREfessional! I put a small amount of the POREfessional, "that gal" and hello flawless oxygen wow on the back of my hand and mix with a cotton swab. Then, I apply the mixture with a foundation brush! It's super easy and my face looks flawless :) xoxo, B
Do you apply bad gal before or after your moisturizer?
I apply it after and it looks nice! :)
After, it's a primer to be used in between moisturiser and foundation (or just after moisturiser if you don't like to wear foundation)
That gal is a primer so you should apply it after you moisturize.
That Gal purchased a year ago unopened I purchased this a year a go for stock up and is unopened. I just finished my 'that gal' primer and I'm on to the next but is this still good to use? (even after 1 year in storage?)
Mine was just fine, but it was unopened and kept in a dark place (under my bathroom sink) Go for it!
Our products are typically good for 36 months unopened. This is a generalization as some products can be shorter than this.
"That Gal" over redness I am pale and have problems with redness on my face. I like to wear primer alone on more chill days, and I know the pinkish tint is very sheer but will it make my redness more apparent?
Hi! I bought this product to even out my redness around my nose and cheeks. it really is a lovely product!
Hi There, I'm no expert but perhaps i can add some insight. I have pink based skin, and rosacea. I use this primer and i love it. It definately does not make my rosacea or red pigments more predominant. :)
I don't think so. I have redness as well, & have used this alone on days when I don't feel like wearing make up. Even though the product does have a pink tint I didn't notice any sort of pink color on the face. You really can't see the product when its on, your skin is just more refreshed looking!
Could you use this before putting on big easy?
Yes. As a foundation primer, that gal is thinner than Big Easy. And thinner layers usually go underneath the thicker layers, so they kiss the skin better
Yes, Gorgeous! You certainly can. That gal is the perfect partner to Big Easy.
Is it normal for the dispenser to take several turns for the product to come out? I just bought this product full sized and I had to turn the bottom a bunch of times to get some product out. I just wanted to know if this was normal or not.
Yeah, when I first got this, I had to turn it 20 times to get the product to appear. After that, it only takes one or two turns.
Yes, Gorgeous! That's completely normal :-)
That gal brightening face primer If "that gal" brightening face primer is worn under liquid foundation will it only act as a primer or will it still brighten the face and give the appearance of a brighter complexion?
Try using it under your foundation first. You can pat That Gal on over your foundation, if you'd like to brighten your complexion even more.
I think it will do both things.
What is the difference between "that gal" and "girl meets pearl"?
That Gal is a brightening primer, you can wear it under your usual make up, or alone. Girl Meets Pearl is a luminizer. I would not apply it all over, but rather over your make up as a high lighter.
That Gal is a silky pink primer that contains light-reflecting pigments to help brighten all skin tones. Girl meets pearl is a liquid pearl luminizer which contains light-reflecting pigments to give your complexion an exquisite, dewy glow.
Porefessional + "that gal" Can I use these together? If so, which one goes on first?
Yes, and a wonderful combination they are too! I use them together myself on occasion. Just put "That Gal" on first, then pat on the Porefessional where you need it x
I usually use these together, and pore-fessional goes on first. It takes care of the pores, and That Gal adds the color and glow!
Porefessional+That Gal= perfect combination. It doesn't really matter if you use them separately, together, first That Gal, next Porefessional or the other way around.
Yes, you can you use them together. Apply POREfessional first, and then that gal. You can also mix the two of them together.
Does "that gal work for African American skin tones?
That gal would probably work for your skin tone as i am nc 35 or beige in hello flawless and it does not make me look ghostly, you just have to blend it well. I put on moisturiser and then that gal. I would suggest doing this before you put on that gal because then it is easier to blend
Hello: Since it is a brightener and also a primer, it works perfectly with all skin tones, even African American.
Use as a foundation? Can That Gal be used as a foundation or concealer of the sorts?
I use it as a foundation, especially when I am just hanging out. If you have a great complexion, I would imagine that may be all you need, even for evening. I usually use a foundation, but if I am feeling low key, I will use pore-fessionall with that gal on top, then add Dallas.
It isn't really a foundation but it does even out skin and make it look fresh and new. If you have pretty good skin you can wear it by itself and it should make skin look great! If not i would recommend Hello Flawless oxygen wow foundation on top of the primer!
No. It's a primer so it's worn under your foundation.
Is this for Acne Prone skin? I have a tendency to break out if using something too heavy or oily on my face. Would you recommend this product? I currently use Hello Flawless alone but is really lightweight and it starts to fall off after a while. I want a primer that will smooth out my face and give a little bit more coverege when combined with Hello Flawless but do not want the cacky, heavy feel, nor do I want to break out. Thanks!
I find that this is very light and should be quite good for oily skin. It covers imperfections so should be good for blemishes or acne. If you just use a little it is not cakey at all. Hope this helps! <3
I have very oily skin and this does not break me out at all. It is lightweight, silky, and ultra-smooth. My foundation stays-put all day, even in 100 degree temperatures. This primer also creates a very subtle brightening effect even when used under foundation. I use this in conjunction with "the POREfessional" for the smoothest finish possible.
If you are looking for a bit more coverage without the heavy feel, I would go with a spot concealer like bo-oing or erase paste. That gal doesn't give more coverage; it brightens your face so that Hello Flawless can cover imperfections more effectively. I don't think this product will make you break out, because it is very light weight. However, if you have really sensitive skin it might react to the fragrance. From what you've told me, I'd recommend getting this product only if you paired it up with Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow, than set it with a fluff brush swipe of Hello Flawless. If you don't like liquid foundation, I recommend you look into getting the spot concealer and pair it with your Hello Flawless. Hope this helped!!
For about how long does it lasts ? Is it really worth the money?
I would say it's completely worth the money, lasts all day when you wear it, and the pot last for at least two months, you only use a pea sized amount when you use it, and i don't even use it every day. Hope this helps :)
I can confidently say that this lasts an awfully long time. I used mine daily, and it definitely lasted well over a year.
I swear by this product and use it every morning. With 2 twists, it typically lasts for about 3 months.
Can I use foundation over ? Can I use Hellu Flawless Oxygen over that gal primer ?
YES, that is how I use mine, it leaves your skin so BEAUTIFUL honestly you won't regret the investment.
Yes of course, or you could mix that gal with flawless oxygen and then apply :)
You certainly can. I even mix Porefessional and That Gal and apply the mixture on my face with some Ultra Radiance mist, and then goes Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow.
wait time after applying that gal primer?? I used the that gal primer right after i put my moisturizer on and then when i put my concealer on I had rolling pieces on my face like my face was shedding. Do you have to let this primer dry before applying other items?
What i was shown is that you you the face total moisture cream then I apply mixed up the pore fessional and the that gal and use with a sponge to your face. I then use the some kind a gorgeous in light to the face. Hope that helps
When I put my concealer on after using That Gal, I haven't seen it rolling into pieces so far. Perhaps your concealer has begun to dry. As to the way of applying it, I always do it after putting my moisturizer on, the very same way you do.
I would suggest massaging the product in your hands before applying and then just wait a couple of minutes for the primer to dry after your application, it shouldn't "peel" off.
Over makeup? I was just wondering, can you use this as a highlighter on cheeks and brow like you would with girl meets pearl? It just seems a little pointless to have a lovely pink colour spread across your face, only to be covered with foundation afterwards?
You could, but it would not show much. I would recommend using high beam or watts up on the cheeks for more of a pop.
Super Fair!!? I have seen tons of pictures of girls wearing this but most of them seemed to have tans what if you have super pale skin would it be to strong of a color?
Don't let the pink shade mislead you, it won't add more colour to your complexion. Let the texture refresh and hydrate you instead.
Nope, that gal is colourless primer that evens out your skin tone. It will just make your skin appear brighter, thats all. :)
Nope! I am also super fair-skinned and I use this every day. Once you blend it, it glows no matter how tanned you are. I highly recommend this product, I think it looks better on those who are more fair.
Does this help your make up stay put? Does this primer only brighten your complexion or does it make make up stay on and last like 'Stay don't Stray'?
Stay don't stray is meant as an eyeshadow and concealer primer, whereas that gal is to prime the entire face. It definitely keeps your make up on all day!
I use this as primer after I have moisturized my face. Then I apply my foundation, concealer, blush, and powder over top. I think it works great and I can tell that my make up stays on better when I use it. I also use stay don't stray for my eyes and yes it works very well as a primer. I never wear that gal by itself.
yes, like all primers it helps your make-up set.
it brightens your complection and keeps you foundation last all day
I've tried many different primers, certainly enough to know the pros and cons of each. "That Gal" certainly has its good points: it does brighten your complexion and helps make makeup application smoother and easier. However, I've never noticed any difference in how long it makes my makeup last. With "That Gal" my makeup fades throughout the day the same as it does if I don't wear a primer. But never fear: Benefit Cosmetics certainly makes other primers that will ensure your makeup stays on and looks great all day. You've got the right idea: "Stay Don't Stray" is definitely the way to go if you want a primer that will smooth your skin and ensure that your makeup will stay in place all day/night long and that your concealer and eye shadow will never settle into creases. If you don't need a primer as strong as "Stay Don't Stray," for everyday, Benefit's "The Porefessional" smooths skin and I've found that it does make makeup last at least several hours longer than "That Gal." I find I get the best results when I use "Stay Don't Stray" around mt eye area so my concealer and eye makeup look perfect all day, and then use "the Porefessional" for the rest of my face. I hope this helps you! :)
It's a primer. So it primes your face for the foundation, which in turn makes it last longer. You also use less of your foundation, because it goes on easier. It also "brightens" at the same time. If you're looking for a more matte look, use porefessional :)
Whereabouts on your face do you apply That Gal primer? I haven't used it yet but am keen to know before it arrives! Do you apply it all over your face, including your nose and eyelids, or just on those features that you want to highlight, eg your cheeks? Also do you put it on underneath your Hello Flawless (also eagerly awaiting!) or over the top? And then do you apply your La Bamba? Thanks a lot!! I am a newcomer to Benefit - does it show?? :-)
That Gal- yes, you can apply it to your entire face, as once you apply foundation it doesn't work as a highlighter. use high beam or watts up over the foundation to highlight! Prep, Prime, Perfect!
I apply all over my face except my eyelids. Great product, you'll love it!
Hi Lucy! I would recommend you using 'That Gal' all over the face-however this does not include eyelids or lips ( I ve tried both and believe that Stay don't stray is better for eyes and Lip Plump is better for the mouth) I wear That Gal under Hello Flawless but do use it to brighten my complexion by doing the following: 1. Twist out just a half twist. 2. Mix it between the tips of your fingers 3. Dab it lightly all over the face. La Bamba? Bella Bamba- over the top of Hello Flawless! If you wish to highlight your features, I looooove Girl meets Pearl. I hope this helps!x
I apply it all over after my lotion, eye cream and sunscreen. It makes a great primer to keep everything in place. I use it underneath my foundation as the first step to a flawless face. Then the La Bamba box o'powder. If you want to highlight I suggest using High Beam or Girl Meets Pearl to touch up your cheek bones and add a dewy look during the day. Have fun! 1)Lotion, sunscreen 2) 'that gal' 3) foundation/powder 4) box o'blush 5) highlight with high beam or girl meets pearl
It brightens the face, so you can apply it everywhere if you want or just cheeks to give highlight, but i wouldn't put it on your eyelids. You would put it on underneath Hello Flawless (which is amazing btw!)
Does that-gal face brightening primer contain oil? I have oily skin and am prone to breakouts.
I have oily skin too and I haven't found That Gal to feel oily at all, in fact I find it controls the shine quite well.
I can't say for sure that it's oil free, but I too am oily and love it, and don't feel that it makes me break out. It's breathable, which is nice, unlike silicone textured primers.
