Felt like a very expensive lip balm - with no hydration or colour (nice n teasy). My lipstick also snapped very quickly after getting slightly warm

Not great

Location: Sandbach, Cheshire. UK

I am new to benefit and love, love, love this makeup and skin care range. However, this lip stick (Wing Woman) doesn't last more than an hour, even without eating and drinking and it is really drying on the lips. Mostly, I love the benefit packaging but this lipstick packaging is really tacky and cheap looking (the outer carton is lovely though). Lipstick gets smeared around the top and the cap isn't particularly good. It looks childish and Barbie plastic - not so fantastic.

Really disappointed!!

Location: Undisclosed

I love Benefit products and use a lot of them, but I am really disappointed with these lipsticks. Their previous full-coverage range was brilliant, would last all day and covered beautifully in a great range of shades. I bought "fling thing" and the colour didn't last much more than an hour, it seemed patchy and drying. I wondered if it was just that colour didn't work for me and I bought "nice and teasy" but had the same problems. I use other brand lipsticks now, but I really wish Benefit would bring back their previous range.

Love that it's: “beautiful”

Picked this up at my last benefit haul and I adore it! The color I got was frisky Business and it is a stunning shade. That color that goes with everything everyday. The formula is very luxe and smooth, with a glossy feel. I love it and the color! Will be getting lots more!

HYDRA but NOT Hydrating

Location: Jakarta, Indonesia

Love that it's: “has a nice color”

I expected too much on this product since I adore Benefit. It's so sad that HYDRA Smooth Lip color isn't that hydrating. I have a dry lips, after I've read the name of the product which contains HYDRA, I thought this lip color will be hydrating. The packaging is okay, maybe it's just not my style.

I love the way this lip color feels on! It wears for a long time and doesn't dry out your lips. The packaging is super cute too.

I need red.

Location: Ogden, Utah
Eyes: Green
Skin tone: Fair

I love the smell and texture of my benebalm, and I wanted a more highly pigmented red to wear during the day when I'm out and about. I thought this lipstick line would be perfect. I love the look of the packaging and I wanted to have one in my purse to take out and reapply during the day, but I want red. I don't like fuchsia. I want a real red. Why no red, Benefit? Why no red?

Love the color, but doesn't stay the course

Location: Berkeley, CA, USA
Eyes: Brown
Skin tone: Medium

I purchased a beautiful apricot shade in store (can't read the color on the tube because the print is too small) but even though the color is gorgeous, it doesn't last and must be applied several times throughout the day. Just as irksome however is the tube itself which I find annoying since it scrapes the lipstick until the product is used to the extent that it no longer protrudes above the lowest twist. Loved the cardboard container a bunch however! It's perfect to reuse for Q-tips while traveling!

In love

Location: RI
Eyes: Brown
Skin tone: Fair

I love lip color and I'm pretty picky about what I will wear. I like vibrancy without bleeding, pilling, and dryness. I bought this in "Flng Thing" because I was looking to try a deeper fall shade without jumping feet-first into a heavy lipstick. This lippy has a super light-weight feel while still being totally pigmented. The color is buildable without getting heavy or dried out. I really love this product and will probably purchase other shades now. When I really want a bold lip I layer it over Benetint.

Great colour, cute packaging, but dry lips

Location: Nijmegen, The Netherlands
Eyes: Brown
Skin tone: Fair
Love that it's: “such's a vibrant colour, smooth when applying”

I love this lipstick! This is the first lipstick I've ever bought, I never was one for make-up. I don't like lip-gloss, so I was a bit worried about lipstick. I admit, I was swayed by the packaging at first. It looks really cute! So I bought it in the shade: talking flirty. It's easy to apply and glides over my lips, the colour is vibrant as well, but if I don't have any balm under it my lips dry out, unless I apply new coats once in a while.

coverage, moisture but crayon smell

Location: The Netherlands
Eyes: Brown
Skin tone: Medium
Love that it's: “bright, longwearing”

The colour is good+ Built coverage by applying multiple layers+ Doesn't fade+ More moisturizing than most other lipsticks+ Cheap smell, crayon like Plastic packaging, not so chique I do wear it often. It's my lipstick of the moment.

Tube fail!

Location: San Jose
Eyes: Green
Skin tone: Medium

I actually love the color Flirty Talk , but the tube design is terrible . I like to keep it in my purse but the clear cap is to short and doesn't stay on , I keep getting dirty grime in the lipstick and it broke off ..I bought another one thinking it may have been a fluke ...but disappointed exact thing happened . I would give it five stars if benefit had it in their normal lipstick tube ..just a poor design ..cap fail !

Air Kiss - Sheer Bubblegum

Location: UK
Eyes: Blue
Skin tone: Light

I love this lipstick! Firstly, it is very creamy so it does not dry your lips but almost conditions them as it makes them look ultra pretty. It is long lasting. I have had this lipstick a while now and use it daily with top ups. Also the lipstick itself is a beautiful colour and I have had many compliments on it. The packaging is so cute and definitely makes the lipstick unique. Only problem is the lipstick itself doesn't tend to last longer than an hour. I love Benefits products. Perhaps slightly overpriced but definitely worth it... I am wanting to invest in more colour already!!! XOXO

love the color

Location: Singapore
Eyes: Brown
Skin tone: Olive
Love that it's: “moisturise the lip”

I was never a fan of lipstick but this product made me fall in love with the idea of wearing lipstick to finish my look. It doesn't dry my lip like all other limited lipstick that i bought. This, is a keeper in my makeup bag. Just tt its bulky to carry around.

juicy! [for about an hour]

Location: Perth WA, Australia
Eyes: Brown
Skin tone: Fair

i have this in juicy details, I love the colour, but it doesn't seem to last long:( I would still buy it again, but i do have to re-apply quite often. maybe its too smooth...? Its really nice layered over a tint, and the tube design is really stunning. even the cardboard tube that its sold in is pretty awesome. [yes, I keep packaging] ;D

Benefit have let themselves down

Location: London, UK

I religiously bought benefit lipstick and never bought from anywhere else BUT when they brought out their new lipsticks I was so disappointed. The texture is poor, the colour barely lasts an hour and the packaging is so cheap the cap came off in my bag smearing all the lipstick inside it. It's such a shame Benefit chose to change these lipsticks, I've had to look for somewhere else to buy great lipstick now!

Great color, but that's all.

Location: Seattle, WA, USA
Eyes: Green
Skin tone: Fair
Love that it's: “great with hervana/lollitint”

I've worn lipstick in the past, but moved on to stains and tinted balms because my husband can't stand it when I wear things that transfer. When these lipsticks were put on the website, I thought the packaging was hideous. The shape of the tube just seemed like something I wouldn't want in my purse. Kind of cheap-looking. While recently getting LolliTint, I impulse-purchased this lipstick in Talk Flirty as I saw it was recommended along with LolliTint on the website. I LOVE the color, as it goes perfectly over LolliTint or alone alongside Hervana, but that's where it ends. I still don't like the tube and I have no idea why it's called "hydra-smooth". There's nothing smooth about applying it, and if I don't wear balm beneath it, it's pretty drying. But since it's finally a shade that could get me to buy a lipstick, I give it two stars (hearts?) and that's it - which is REALLY hard for me, as I am nuts about Benefit.

Not the best..

Location: Phoenix, AZ, USA
Eyes: Blue
Skin tone: Light

I got this Hydra-Smooth Lip Color, in my build your own kit. I was so excited to have this, and be able to try it out. When i first received it, my initial reaction was amazing because of the adorable casing it was in. My heart was literally beating so fast with excitement.. But then I took the cap off the product, and became less excited. The smell was bad, not horrible, but it had a cheap smell. Similar to Vaseline. The color is OK, but fades very quickly. I probably wouldn't ever repurchase this on my own outside of that kit. Benefit is AMAZING, don't get me wrong. It's just not their best product I've ever tried. That is just my opinion, though. (:

Packaging is terrible.

Location: Boise, ID
Eyes: Blue
Skin tone: Medium

I was so excited to try this new lipstick! When I walked into Ulta, I saw them right away on display. The packaging is over the top and out dated. I loved the color tutie-cutie though, so I ended up buying it. It is bulky and I had a hard time keeping it in the pocket of my purse. The lid falls off as well. I wish it was in different packaging, because the product itself, is wonderful.

I'm really missing Benefit's silky finish lipsticks...

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA
Eyes: Brown
Skin tone: Medium

I'm really missing Benefit's silky finish lipsticks already. The color Fling Thing is beautiful and it is more hydrating than most lipsticks, but it's still not as nice as the silk finish lipsticks. Plus I'm not a huge fan of the packaging, it feels cheap and a bit cheesy. Plus it's not as compact and slick as the other one was and doesn't fit in my bags as nicely. I feel like the top can come off easily or get cracked and loose.

Oh, if only it was just a little creamier...

Location: Madrid, Spain
Eyes: Green
Skin tone: Fair
Love that it's: “Moisturizing, lovely colours, adorable package”

The first shade I bought was Frisky Business, followed a few weeks later by Tuttie Cutie and Wing Woman and, today, Dare me and Fling Thing. Frisky Business and, especially, Wing Woman, are, I think, two lovely neutrals and Tuttie Cutie is the first shade I got tried on. Alas, unfortunately, I couldn't buy it the day I got it tried on because it wasn't available yet, but I promised myself it would be mine as soon as it was available. It looks lovely both solo and with Chachatint, if you feel like combining both at any particular moment. As for Dare me and Fling Thing, they are lovely to wear by themselves or even mixed. The vintage package it has is lovely, it's one of the things I love most about it. As for texture, it is nicely moisturizing, but I miss some more creaminess in it.

Drying formula, ridiculous packaging

Location: Chicago, IL
Eyes: Hazel
Skin tone: Fair

I was very disappointed when the Silky Finish lipsticks were discontinued. I heard from a sales associate that some people complained that the formula didn't stay put, but one look at the reviews on the website would tell you that some people didn't WANT a formula that stays put for ages because such a formula is, by scientific necessity, drying. I bought more tubes of the Silky Finish than I can count, because it was exactly what I wanted and Benefit was the only company that offered it. They had carved out a niche for this kind of lipstick, and it had a ton of loyal fans. Now, getting back to the Hydra-Smooth, I decided that I ought to give it a shot. My first thought was that the packaging was so ornate and over the top as to be ridiculous, but I was still hoping for a great moisturizing formula that didn't compromise on pigment. I was really disappointed. This stuff is pretty much your basic old lipstick. It dries out my lips like most lipsticks. So Benefit abandoned their niche to focus on something that you can get pretty much anyplace else -- hoping for crazy packaging to be the main draw? Sigh. I have since found Revlon Lip Butters and L'Oreal Balm, which are nowhere near as good as the old Silky Finish from Benefit, but they are now the closest thing on the market. And at least they cost only a few bucks. Sigh.

Okay - but….

Location: Rochester Hills, MI

I was disappointed when Benefit discontinued the Full Finish lipstick line. The salesperson at Ulta told me I'd probably like this better. While it's not bad, I still liked the creaminess and colors of the Full Finish and comparing the Hydra-Smooth with my remaining Full Finish, find that the Full Finish is better at moisturizing my lips.

Absolutely Fabulous

Location: Undisclosed

I've been eyeing this for a while, wanted to wait until it was in stores, save the $ on shipping.. was at Ulta today and they had these on display, only one tester and one to sell though of each, it was like the makeup gods were in my favor, swatched the collection (all were beautiful), but only picked up Fling Thing (that's the one I wanted most). Absolutely LOVE it. The color is fantastic, feels smooth as silk and definitely moisturizing. I wanted to get one of the more sheer colors, but Ulta also had Rockateur on the shelves so I made the sacrifice... in retrospect, i most likely am going back tomorrow. i hope i hope i hope they still have Dare Me on the shelf. agh!
