About Benefit Cosmetics
Instant beauty solutions, irreverent names and creative packaging…Benefit knows makeup doesn’t have to be serious to look good. In 1976, Jean and Jane Ford, the “fake it” twins, opened a quirky San Francisco makeup boutique with a whimsical candy store atmosphere.
Their new feel-good approach to beauty was a runaway hit and the twins successfully built Benefit Cosmetics into the international beauty empire that’s every gal’s best friend. In 1999, Benefit joined Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), the world’s leading luxury group, and was catapulted into a global beauty presence with more than 3,000 counters in over 35 countries!
Glamouriety tells the history of Benefit Cosmetics’ iconic beauty products and the wit and whimsy of identical twins, Jean and Jane Ford, who started it all! Watch now.
We believe in whistling while you work it…and faking it ‘til you make it. We believe in making waves, breaking rules and raising eyebrows. We believe in bold and girly…and that lip gloss speaks louder than words. We believe in fast & fabulous beauty solutions and that makeup doesn’t have to be serious to look good…We believe that bad gals finish first…and that glamour is grabbing life by the giggles and not letting go. We believe if at first you don’t succeed, apply more lipstick…that sexy gets you everywhere…and if you can’t be good, be gorgeous.
We believe laughter is the best cosmetic!
In 1997, the brand went global, opening its first counter in the UK and attracting the attention of the world’s leading luxury group Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH). In 1999, Benefit joined LVMH, home to over 60 glamorous brands including Dior, Marc Jacobs and Sephora. The unique combination of laughter and luxe catapulted Benefit into a global beauty presence with counters in over 35 countries.
